The HP1500 is a switch-mode power supply (SMPS) converter IC that integrates a high-density, high-performance current-mode PWM controller and a power MOSFET, suitable for switch-mode power supplies rated at less than 30W. The HP1500 features extremely low startup and operating currents, and it offers green mode and burst mode functionality to minimize switching losses.

In addition, the HP1500 has a constant power feature with built-in line voltage compensation. After the load reaches maximum power, as the load current increases, the output voltage decreases to maintain an approximately constant power output. The HP1500 provides a variety of comprehensive, recoverable protection modes including cycle-by-cycle current limit (OCP), over-temperature protection (OTP), VCC overvoltage protection, secondary-side Schottky short-circuit protection, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO).The HP1500 is available in an SOP-8L package option.
