Hynetek and American Analog Devices (ADI) have launched a 60W automotive front-mounted USB PD solution, which uses the LT8390+HUSB350 chip combination. LT8390 is a unique 150kHz-600kHz synchronous four-switch Buck-Boost controller launched by Analog Devices (ADI). It can provide an output voltage of 5 V to 20 V (maximum output 60W at 20V, 3 A) to power USB-C devices from the car battery. Such a high controller switching frequency makes the solution size small, the bandwidth is high, and the EMI outside the AM radio frequency band is very low. Spread spectrum frequency modulation and low EMI current detection architecture all help LT8390 applications pass the strict test of CISPR 25 Class 5 EMI standards.
