When our phone is running out of battery and we can't find a power outlet, devices such as laptops, tablets, game consoles, and power banks that support reverse charging become viable options. This is made possible by the application of PD DRP (Power Delivery Dual Role Port) chips, which allow these devices to function both as a Power Source (when connected to a removable disk or a phone) and as a Sink (when connected to a display or a power adapter).
Hynetek Semiconductor's newly launched HUSB252, a 100W bidirectional fast-charging PD DRP chip, supports all protocols and offers greater flexibility in functional configuration, meeting various secondary development needs of customers.

The HUSB252 is designed for a USB Type-C DRP product. It can support up to multiple PDOs with programmable voltage and current for different applications, such as PPS PDOs. All of PDOs are fully compliant with USB PD 3.1 Specification Rev.1.8. Besides, the HUSB252 implements DPDM charging protocols. Both D+ and D- pins can be configured to support QC2.0, QC3.0, AFC, FCP, SCP, UFCS and divider 3 mode which provide excellent compatibility for the legacy devices. It integrates an GATE driver to enable the VBUS from VIN to protect the devices connected with Type-C connector. The high voltage tolerance and protections at CC1, CC2, D+ and D- pins provide more reliability for the system.

The HUSB252 supports PD DRP 100W, allowing it to perform seamlessly whether acting as a power source (Source) or a power receiver (Sink). This feature enables the HUSB252 to excel in charging scenarios for high-power devices such as laptops, tablets, and game consoles, providing users with an unprecedented fast charging experience.
In addition to the PD protocol, the HUSB252 also supports IEC 62680 and Common Charger standards, ensuring that safety and compatibility meet international standards. Whether in the domestic or international market, the HUSB252 provides users with reliable charging assurance.
The HUSB252 also supports UFCS (Universal Fast Charging Specification), which means that different brands and models of devices can achieve more convenient charging interoperability. Users no longer need to worry about finding specific brand chargers, truly realizing the convenience of "one charger in hand, power anywhere."
The HUSB252, equipped with a high-performance MCU, not only supports Buck-Boost control but also allows for flexible configuration and secondary development. This feature provides developers with a broad canvas for creativity, enabling them to tailor personalized charging solutions based on actual needs and meet the diverse demands of the market.
The HUSB252 supports multiple DPDM charging protocols, with flexible configuration of the D+ and D- pins, and it is compatible with a variety of fast charging protocols including QC2.0, QC3.0, AFC, FCP, SCP, and UFCS, as well as Divider 3 mode. This design not only enhances the charging efficiency for new devices but also provides excellent compatibility support for older devices, ensuring that every device can enjoy a fast and safe charging experience.
In terms of safety, the HUSB252 also excels. It features an integrated high-voltage driver, GATE driver, and comprehensive fault protection mechanisms (including overvoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit, overtemperature, undervoltage, CC overvoltage, DPDM overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown) to provide all-around safety for connected devices. Additionally, all Type-C connector pins meet the HBM ESD ±1500V protection level, ensuring stable operation even in harsh environments.
