The HUSB305Ais a USB Type-C Source Port Controller, integrating multiple essential functions for a USB TypeC source port. It combines the VBUS power switch and current sensing resistor to save board space and reduce BOM costs. Specifically designed for 5 V USB Type-C source port applications that require a highcurrent switch, the HUSB305A offers a compact and cost-effective solution. The HUSB305A has USB Type-C 1.5 A/3 A protocols integrated. It features a programmable current limit that provides flexible and adaptive current protection. Additionally, the HUSB305A supports 60 mΩ cable drop compensation when the OPTO pin is connected for feedback loop control. The HUSB305A integrates all required protections, including Over Voltage Protection (OVP),Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO), Over Current Protection (OCP), Fast Over Current Protection (FOCP), and Thermal Shut Down (TSD). It is available in SOP-8L package.

The HUSB305A is ideal for replacing USB Type-C connectors in adapters with barrel connectors. The HUSB305A simply needs to be placed on the USB Type-C Paddle Card, without altering the internal structure or housing of the power supply that originally connected to the barrel connector. The power supply housing does not require retooling, and the original output with two-core wires (VBUS and GND) can be maintained. The HUSB305A's high voltage withstand capability and robust protection features ensure reliable performance under various harsh conditions, including frequent plugging/unplugging, sudden changes in load, and load short circuits. Additionally, the HUSB305A can be mounted directly on the power supply board and connected to the USB Type-C connector via a three-wire configuration (VBUS, GND, and CC).
HUSB305A supports 60 mΩ cable voltage drop compensation, maintaining stable voltage even during long-line charging.
The HUSB305A not only supports USB Type-C 1.5A/3.0A Rp current source broadcasting, but also supports current identification of traditional D+/D- ports, and the voltage withstand rating has also been greatly improved.
The HUSB305A is specifically designed for 5 V USB Type-C power port applications that require high-current switching, offering a compact, cost-effective solution. It incorporates a VBUS power switch and current sensing resistor, thereby saving PCB space and reducing bill of materials (BOM) costs. The HUSB305A's OPTO pin can be connected to an optocoupler to enable feedback control, eliminating the need for a TL431.

When the input of HUSB305A is fixed at 5V, simply leave the OPTO pin floating.
