As a key component of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's “CHINACHIP” initiative, the CHINACHIP Outstanding Products Collection stands as one of the most influential and authoritative industry events in China's integrated circuit sector. It aims to showcase the nation's most cutting-edge products, technologies, and application innovations in the field, garnering significant attention and broad support from the industry.

HUSB332E, the electronic tag chip for USB PD3.1 EPR 240W cables developed by Hynetek Semiconductor, has been honored with the “CHINACHIP Innovative Product Award”. This recognition stems from its cutting-edge technical performance, extensive market adoption, and strong customer endorsement, setting it apart from numerous competing products.

The HUSB332E was developed to support the transition of USB PD protocol voltages from 20V to 48V. It is primarily used in power cables connecting power supply devices and power-receiving devices. To ensure reliable system protection even under more demanding application conditions, the HUSB332E incorporates the following upgraded innovations:

1. An ultra-wide operating voltage range, supporting input voltages as low as 2.7V and as high as 48V, enables compatibility with any power source within USB cables, including VCONN or VBUS power supplies.

2. With an interface voltage rating up to 60V, the HUSB332E supports a maximum withstand voltage exceeding 60V to prevent potential short circuits between the CC or VCONN wires in USB Type-C cables and the VBUS due to aging or accidental faults. This ensures the cable continues to function normally even under maximum output voltage conditions when wire or pin short-circuit failures occur, significantly enhancing system reliability.

3. Enhanced Temperature Monitoring and Over-Temperature Protection. The HUSB332E eliminates the need for external temperature sensors by incorporating built-in temperature detection. It continuously monitors temperatures at both ends of the cable. Should the cable overheat due to excessive current or abnormal short-circuit faults, the chip detects the temperature anomaly in real time. It then proactively shuts down the charging system or reduces the voltage to a safe 5V charging level, preventing further escalation of the fault.

4. True zero-peripheral design. The HUSB332E can be powered directly via VCONN or VBUS, featuring an integrated voltage regulator circuit that eliminates the need for any external components, achieving a true zero-peripheral design. This significantly facilitates the miniaturization of cable connectors, enhancing the user experience.
